Embodiment Construction

[0024] For convenience, the present invention will be described by way of example in relation to the injection of water for air treatment. In one application of wastewater treatment, the water comprises wastewater. The water / wastewater to be treated is shown at 10 and stored in an open well or tank 3 . An air distribution line 2 extends from an air source 1 which supplies the line with air under pressure. An electric motor driven pump (not shown) is conveniently used for this purpose. Along the length direction of the pipeline 2, a group of outlet pipelines 4 are arranged at certain intervals. For wastewater treatment purposes, each outlet line has a diffuser that releases air in the form of small bubbles into the water / wastewater. In order to ensure that the air flow from each diffuser is the same, a regulator 5 is used in the flow line between the delivery line 2 and the outlet diffuser 4 . The regulator can be part of the diffuser or also a separate component. Regulato...

Abstract

A mixing, aerating or oxygenating apparatus to aerate or oxygenate ponds, rivers or lakes, sewage or effluent treatment lagoons or beds or to airstrip volatile compounds from water or other solutes by distributing gas through a piped system having a plurality of outlets branching from a common distribution line. In order to deliver a desired quantity of air or oxygen at each outlet, a constant flow regulator is disposed in each outlet which limits the flow to a set amount when the pressure in the pipe system exceeds a predetermined minimum value. In one embodiment, the regulator is chosen to achieve this irrespective of pressure drop along the distribution line. In another embodiment, the regulator is chosen to give the desired output with no pressure drop along the distribution line.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a method and equipment for adjusting the distribution of air flow, in particular to a method for aerating or oxygenating ponds, rivers, estuaries, reservoirs or lakes, sewage or waste water treatment storage ponds or pools or from water or other Mixing, aerating or oxygenating methods and apparatus for stripping volatile compounds from solutes. Background technique [0002] In many cases, the gas is introduced into the liquid using a diffuser submerged in water. For example, for aeration and mixing, particularly oxygenation of water, oxygen is introduced into a liquid (typically water). Such technologies are used in aerobic biological treatment systems to treat sewage, different types of wastewater and rainwater and water in aquariums or lakes and rivers and other environments. This technology is also used for the stripping of volatile organic compounds in sewage. [0003] Typically, sewage in an "activated sludge tr...
