The field-emissive cathode includes a cathode conductive layer, and an electro emitter formed on the cathode conductive layer. The electro emitter contains Nano carbon tube and getter material. The invention is also related to plane light source of using the said field-emissive cathode. The plane light source includes the said field-emissive cathode and an anode. The anode includes an anodic conductive layer, and a fluorophor layer formed on the anodic conductive layer. The fluorophor layer is faced to the electro emitter. The disclosed plane light source can maintain certain vacuum degree inside plane light source so as to prolong service life of plane light source.
