Abstract

An absolute shaft angle encoder is composed of a housing 1, a rotating shaft 5, a turntable 3, a signal source 2 and an annular detector array 6 fixed on the housing 1. The invention uses the fixed position sequence of the sensitive units in the detector array to replace the multi-code channel coding in the prior art, so that it becomes very simple to solve the absolute rotation angle measurement by using the semiconductor integrated circuit technology. The invention provides a completely new type of absolute encoder which has the feature of essential absolute position, can operate normally when it is turned on, and does not need any movement to find the zero point.
