Abstract

The weathering steel is composed of: C 0.04-0.07 wt.%, Si 0.2-0.4 wt.%, Mn 0.5-0.8 wt.%, S less than or equal to 0.01 wt.%, P 0.08-0.10 wt.%, Cu 0.45-0.55 wt.%, Ni 0.3-0.4 wt.%, Nb 0.02-0.03 wt.%, Ti 0.02-0.03 wt.%, Ca 0.002-0.006 wt.%, RE 0.01-0.03 wt.%, and Fe as balance. The method comprises: smelting in an electric furnace or converter, refining, continuously casting the slab, and continuously hot-rolling.
