[0060] A number of polyester compositions were further prepared with and without polyvinyl chloride ("PVC") and polyvinylidene fluoride ("PVDF") coatings. Horizontal burn tests on these samples showed that covering could further improve fire resistance. Specifically, covering reduces burn length, improves the time for a given resin composition to self-extinguish, and improves the degree of dripping (and formation of burning droplets). In at least some embodiments, coverings comprising PVDF may provide somewhat better fire resistance than coverings comprising PVC.
