Embodiment Construction

[0080] An object of the present invention is to minimize the influence of ranging processing in a certain system on other systems installed in parallel and on data in communication, which occurs when optical fibers are shared among a plurality of PON systems. Therefore, among the PON systems that share an optical fiber, the mechanism of sharing the PON section communication timing of each system with each other is realized. As a result, while maintaining the basic functions of the PON, it is possible to efficiently operate a plurality of PONs. Various modifications are contemplated for the PON juxtaposition system, but the present invention can be applied to all structures.

[0081] In a system configuration in which a plurality of PONs are arranged in parallel by sharing optical fibers, various variations are considered. For example, a plurality of PONs use a common upstream wavelength or a common downstream wavelength. There are roughly four types of systems constituted by...

Abstract

The present invention provides a network system and an OLT. The signal superposition between PON should be totally eliminated for causing the coexistence of a plurality of PONs. Thus the using state of bandwidth of optical fiber, which becomes the common bandwidth, should be shared or managed with a centralized mode among a plurality of systems. Therefore the transmission clocks must be synchronized among the plurality of systems with a high precision. For synthesizing the clocks of the plurality of systems, a reference clock is provided to the whole system from an external device or a representative OLT. The whole system is synthesized through synthesizing each OLT with the reference clock. For sharing the bandwidth using state among a plurality of systems, a hierarchical management method which comprises managing the bandwidth using information summarized to each OLT in the external device or the representative OLT and managing the managed ONU in each OLT is adopted.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a system control method capable of managing ONUs in each system, ensuring communication bandwidth, and identifying communication data when a plurality of optical access devices are installed and a plurality of systems are installed in parallel by sharing an optical fiber. Background technique [0002] With the increasing demand for broadband, user-oriented access lines are replacing DSL and other access technologies based on telephone lines, and are shifting to large-capacity access lines using optical fibers. There are roughly two types of optical access lines. One is a type called a media converter (MC), and it is a method of connecting an optical fiber from a telecommunications company's equipment room to a user's house or a user's building, and installing the optical fiber in a one-to-one topology. The other is called PON (Passive Optical Network), which is equipped with an optical coupler (optical splitter) in the...
