Abstract

The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for producing printed products. In the method according to the invention, after a book ridge (9) of a paperbook (6) is deformed, a cover (15)is respectively conveyed, and glue (16) is coated on the cover (15) or the deformed book ridge (9) so that the cover (15) and the paperbook (6) are connected to a printed product (14) and the printedproduct (14) is conveyed out from book ridge processors (13, 13'). Therefore the book ridge processors (13, 13') are provided with a deformer (26), a glue station (27) and mechanisms (28, 29, 30) forcoating the cover (15) to the paperbook (6). The book ridge processors (13, 13') form an independent module which can be connected with a converge stapler (4). The book ridge processors (13, 13') canrealize the re-allocation of the prior converge stapler (4), therefore the normal or high-quality printed product (14) can be selectively processed through the converge stapler.
