Problems solved by technology

Recent studies have found that neither injecting neurotrophic factors into the vitreous cavity nor neutralizing antibodies to myelin inhibitors can significantly promote the survival and axon regeneration of RGCs after lens injury, and the regenerated axons can reach the superior colliculus and form functional Synaptic connection, this protective effect is significantly stronger than the known neurotrophic factors and neutralizing myelin inhibitors, but it is not yet clear what the mechanism of this protective effect is and what is the protective active substance

Abstract

The invention discloses the application of a human alpha b crystalline protein in preparing a medicament for protecting retinal ganglion cells, belonging to the field of biopharmaceuticals. The medicament for protecting retinal ganglion cells is characterized by comprising an effective ingredient of isolated and purified alpha b crystalline proteins. The alpha b crystalline protein as the effective ingredient of the medicament provided by the invention can significantly improve the survival and axonal regeneration of retinal ganglion cells RGCs; and through empirical evidence, the medicament prepared in the invention is an effective medicament which has the effect of restoring the visual performance of damaged optic nerves.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of biopharmaceuticals, in particular to the application of human αB-crystallin in the preparation of medicines for protecting retinal ganglion cells and the medicines. Background technique [0002] Optic nerve injury is a common type of ocular trauma and the cause of blindness in clinic. In recent years, with the development of society and economy, the number of traumas such as traffic accidents has increased, and the optic nerve injury has also increased significantly. The incidence rate in patients with traumatic brain injury is 6% to 12.6%. The traditional view is that irreversible pathological changes occur after optic nerve injury, nerve tissue cannot regenerate, and visual function damage cannot be restored. Currently, there is no definitive and effective treatment. Therefore, after optic nerve injury, it has become a research hotspot to take timely and effective treatment methods to protect and save the survi...
