Abstract

The invention discloses a disc-type friction material and also discloses a manufacturing method of the disc-type friction material which has the advantages of capability of avoiding environmental pollution, good heat resistance, stable performance and high friction coefficient. The disc-type friction material contains 25-35 parts of steel fiber, 0.5-1.5 parts of aramid fiber, 24-30 parts of carbon substance, 7-9 parts of adhesive, 25-30 parts of barite powder and 21-22 parts of filler. The manufacturing method adopts dry preforming process and comprises the following steps: (1) mixing: putting partial steel fiber and partial aramid fiber and all the barite into a mixer, stirring, then putting in the rest materials and stirring again; (2) pre-compression molding: putting the mixed materials into a cold pressing mold and conducting pressure forming to obtain a cold billet; (3) hot pressing: putting the cold billet in a mold and pressing; and (4) heat treating: conducting heat treatment in a baking oven and baking for 9-19 hours at temperature raised from room temperature to 200 DEG C.
