[0103] Preparation of polyester resin A1~A6

[0104] A 5 liter autoclave equipped with a distillation column was charged with 4,000 g of alcohol and carboxylic acid monomers according to the composition stated in Table 1 . In the absence of a catalyst, the monomer is subjected to an esterification reaction at 170-260° C. under normal pressure. After further adding antimony trioxide in an amount of 400 ppm based on the total weight of the carboxylic acid monomers, the monomers were subjected to polycondensation under a vacuum of 3 Torr at 250° C. while removing generated diols. Thus, polyester resins A1 to A6 were prepared. The crosslinking reaction was continued until the stirring torque became 10 kg·cm (100 ppm). The reaction was stopped by releasing the reduced pressure conditions.

Abstract

A toner including a binder resin, a colorant, and a release agent is provided. The toner has a peak loss tangent (tan δ) value of 3 or more within a temperature range of 80 to 160° C. Here, the loss tangent (tan δ) is a ratio (G″ / G′) of a loss elastic modulus (G″) to a storage elastic modulus (G′). The toner provides a good combination of low-temperature fixability, hot offset resistance, storage stability, coloring power and / or opacifying power, and gloss.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to an electrophotographic toner, an image forming method, and a process cartridge. Background technique [0002] In electrophotography, full-color images are formed with toners of four colors: the three primary colors yellow, magenta, and cyan, and black. The beam of light reflected from the document passes through a dichroic light-transmitting filter with the complementary color of the toner. Then, the light beam is directed toward the image bearing member so that an electrostatic latent image is formed on the photosensitive layer of the image bearing member. The electrostatic latent image is developed into a monochrome toner image, and the monochrome toner image is transferred onto a recording medium. This process is successively repeated so that four monochrome toner images of yellow, magenta, cyan, and black are formed and superimposed on each other on the recording medium. The resulting composite full-color toner i...
