Abstract

Disclosed is a capacitor having: a capacitor element; an electrolyte solution which is impregnated into at least the capacitor element; a cylindrical metallic case which has a bottom, and which houses the capacitor element and the electrolyte solution; and a sealing body which seals an opening in the case. The capacitor further has a coating layer which is provided on the part of the sealing body in contact with the outer surface of the capacitor, and which is formed by dispersing an adsorbent in a resin, said adsorbent adsorbing a solvent contained in the electrolyte solution. Alternatively, the sealing body is formed by dispersing the adsorbent in a rubber composition.
