The rotating diameter of an impeller of the wind turbine is adjusted mechanically to enable the rotating speed of the wind turbine to be basically stable. The variable-paddle type vertical axis wind turbine has a safe, reliable and automatically-adjusted control device, so that the windward areas of the wind blades are automatically adjusted along with increase of the wind speed, and further the rotating speed of the wind turbine is kept constant and unchanged.
