Problems solved by technology

However, these phase shifters are restricted by factors such as parasitic effects in high-frequency bands and difficult processing. They can only work in the W-band, and it is difficult to work in higher frequency bands.

Embodiment Construction

[0018] Such as Figure 1-3 As shown in , a reflective liquid crystal phase shifting unit based on graphene electrodes includes upper and lower dielectric substrates 1 and 2, and a liquid crystal layer 3 is injected into the gap between the upper and lower dielectric substrates 1 and 2, The lower surface of the upper dielectric substrate 1 is provided with a number of metal patches 5 connected in series through connecting wires 6 to form a layer of metal microstrip structure; the upper surface of the lower dielectric substrate 2 is fully covered with a layer of graphene layer 4 to form a graphene electrode. The lower surface of the dielectric substrate 2 is fully covered with a layer of metal layer 7 to form a metal ground electrode.

[0019] The liquid crystal layer 3 adopts nematic liquid crystal material. Several metal patches 5 are three dipole patches.

[0020] A voltage is applied on the metal patch 5 and the graphene electrode through the connection line 6, and a bias ...

Abstract

The invention discloses a graphene electrode-based reflecting liquid crystal phase shift unit, which comprises two upper and lower layers of dielectric substrates, wherein a liquid crystal layer is injected into a gap between the two upper and lower layers of dielectric substrates; a plurality of metal patches which are sequentially connected in series through a connection line are arranged on the lower surface of the upper layer of dielectric substrate to form a layer of metal microstrip structure; a graphene layer completely covers the upper surface of the lower layer of dielectric substrate to form a graphene electrode; and a metal layer completely covers the lower surface of the lower layer of dielectric substrate to form a metal grounding electrode. The continuous phase shift characteristic is obtained within a broadband in an electric control manner; and the graphene electrode-based reflecting liquid crystal phase shift unit has the characteristics of being small and easy to process.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the field of terahertz radar imaging, in particular to a reflective liquid crystal phase shifting unit based on graphene electrodes. Background technique [0002] Compared with traditional microstrip array antennas and parabolic reflector antennas, planar reflector antennas have many advantages. The planar reflectarray antenna has simple structure, low cost, low loss and high radiation efficiency. The principle of the reflectarray antenna is to use the phase shift function of the reflective unit to achieve beam focusing. The key to the study of reflectarray antennas is to design the structure and size of reflector elements to obtain excellent phase-shift performance. The traditional microstrip reflective unit can obtain the compensation phase by changing the size of the unit patch or loading a phase delay line. In this way, after the structure of the antenna is determined, the phase of the reflection unit cannot be changed, ...
