Abstract

The invention discloses an efficient identification method for the drought resistance ability of alfalfa varieties. The method comprises the following steps: carrying out polyethylene glycol PEG-6,000-simulated drought stress treatment; measuring physiological indexes with the most sensitive change and sensitive thresholds of the alfalfa varieties with different drought resistance levels when responding to different stress intensity; building sensitive physiological index groups and sensitive threshold index systems corresponding to the drought resistance levels of the alfalfa varieties; and dividing to-be-identified alfalfa varieties into high drought resistance, medium drought resistance and low drought resistance. According to the identification method, when the drought stress is simulated by different concentration of PEG-6,000, the sensitive physiological index groups and the sensitive threshold index systems corresponding to the drought resistance levels are built on the basis of physiological indexes which are closely related to the alfalfa varieties with different drought resistance levels and the sensitive thresholds as identification bases, and the drought resistance ability of the alfalfa is graded, so that the comprehensive evaluation result of the drought resistance of the alfalfa is improved, the method has good operability and reliability, identification of the drought resistance can be completed in a laboratory, the conditions are easy to control and the cost is low.
