Abstract

The invention discloses a silencer capable of utilizing waste heat for carrying out a catalytic reaction. The silencer disclosed by the invention is mainly used for treating lots of waste high-temperature tail gas generated by engines and similar internal combustion engines. The device comprises a silencer and a spiral heat exchanger, wherein the silencer is provided with a front resonant cavity and a rear resonant cavity; the spiral heat exchanger is a hollow-core spiral pipe provided with a plurality of small holes in the pipe wall; and the pipe is internally filled with a catalyst. The silencer disclosed by the invention is capable of lowering the emission noise of the tail gas and carrying out a catalytic cracking reaction by virtue of the waste heat of the tail gas. The silencer disclosed by the invention integrates the silencer and a catalytic cracking structure, is high in space utilization rate, and meets the requirement of compact structure of an automobile body in the automobile field; and moreover, space arrangement for an automobile chassis is benefited, and change on the automobile chassis is not required. The device plays the roles of saving energy, reducing emission and lowering noise in the case of being applied to an automobile.
