Abstract

A system according to the parallel network topology discovery method mainly comprises two parts of a parallel topology discovery part and a dynamic rotating mode part. The parallel topology discovery part is composed of a preprocessing module and a router detecting module. Data are shared between the preprocessing module and the router detecting module through a cyclic queue. The preprocessing module and the router detecting module are executed concurrently. According to the parallel network topology discovery method, communication traffic between detecting sources is reduced through changing a manner of sharing a global stopping set, and furthermore a random verification algorithm and a parallel detecting mechanism are added in the topology discovery process for improving topology discovery wholeness and detecting efficiency. Experiment results in different network topology environments represent a fact that the improved topology discovery method has higher detecting efficiency and higher wholeness than that of a Doubletree method, and furthermore the traffic load generated in sharing the global stopping set between the detecting sources.
