Abstract

The present invention proposes a method for detecting an inclination of a wheel (5) of a motor vehicle (1) relative to the ground, said method comprising the following steps: measuring two accelerations by using two accelerometers which are mounted on the wheel (5) and are suitable for measuring the acceleration of the wheel (5) along a first axis (x) and along a second axis (z), respectively, the first axis (x) and the second axis (z) being in the plane of said wheel (5) and orthogonal; calculating, from the acceleration measurements, components of a gravity vector (G) in a coordinate system formed by the first axis (x) and the second axis (z); determining a modulus of the gravity vector (G) from the calculated components; and determining an inclination position of the wheel (5) relative to the ground by comparing the modulus value of the gravity vector (G) with a predetermined value.
