Abstract

The invention discloses a natural composite herbal ultraviolet absorbent and an application thereof. The ultraviolet absorbent is prepared by combining a yerba mate extract, rutin and oat alkaloid at the ratio of (1-3) to (1-3) to (1-4) by weight; and the ultraviolet absorbent, when used, is added by 0.5-1.5% of the total weight of a product system. According to the natural composite herbal ultraviolet absorbent provided by the invention, the yerba mate extract, the rutin and the oat alkaloid have obvious ultraviolet absorption characteristics in an ultraviolet region; and by comparing a natural composite ultraviolet absorption performance of the ultraviolet absorbent provided by the invention with that of commercial chemical sun-screening agents under the circumstance of a same concentration by virtue of ultraviolet spectrophotometry, the ultraviolet absorption effect of the ultraviolet absorbent provided by the invention is obviously better than that of the commercial chemical sun-screening agents. In addition, the natural composite ultraviolet absorbent is green and environment-friendly, natural and non-irritant. A sun-screening gel adopted by the invention is refreshing but not greasy and has an excellent sun-screening effect.
