The automotive steam pump comprises: a centrifugal pump wheel (34) for pumping gas from the pump inlet hole (30) into the outlet volute (32) and subsequently into the substantially tangential pump outlet pipe (40) , the pump outlet pipe (40) fluidly connects the outlet volute (32) with the pump outlet hole (44); the motor (50) for driving the pump wheel (34), the motor (50) comprising at least one static motor coil (51), magnetic rotor body (52), and motor drive electronics (53) for driving the motor coils (51); electrical connections for electrically connecting the motor drive electronics (53) with the external control unit (19) a connector plug (60); and an integrated pressure sensor (70) that senses fluid pressure in the outlet volute (32) or pump outlet tube (40).
