Abstract

A shell used for casting the casting is obtained through the following steps that an aqueous solution containing alkali hydroxide is prepared; the position, corresponding to the portion prone to hot cracks of the casting, is locally soaked in the aqueous solution containing alkali hydroxide; and the shell is roasted, sothat the shell locally containing alkali hydroxide is obtained. According to the method for restraining thermal cracking of the casting, operation is simple and flexible, and the reliability is high;and by adjusting the solute elements, concentration and total impregnation quantity of the impregnation liquid and controlling the content of the alkali hydroxide in the shell, generation of a glassphase of the shell under a high temperature is improved, the deformability of the shell is effectively improved, and thermal cracking of metal is restrained.
