Abstract

The invention discloses a method for storing and dispensing water resources in northern open pit coal mines. The method comprises the following steps: (1) after July, arranging two rectangular water storage areas side by side in an inner dump, and paving artificial water-resisting layers at the bottom, wherein the artificial water-resisting layers in each water storage area are connected with eachother; (2) paving water-bearing layers above the artificial water-resisting layers, arranging water-resisting retaining walls at the edge of each water storage area, and arranging a vertical water intake well in the middle; (3) continuously arranging two water storage areas side by side along with the advance of the inner dump; (4) after the lowest temperature drops at the end of autumn in that year, conveying mine drainage to the water storage areas, and stopping waterflooding until accumulated water appears on the surface; (5) during the freezing period in winter, continually injecting water into the water storage areas; (6) in the next spring, pumping water from the water intake well with a water pump, and conveying the pumped water to a water needing site in a mine. The method has thebeneficial effects that the water storage areas are close to a water source and a water use place, so that the storage and dispensing distance of water resources is short. Moreover, the constructionof a water storage system is integrated with the discarding of stripped substances in the open pit mine, so that the cost is low.
