Abstract

The invention discloses a towing head for underwater towed systems and a method for assembling the towing head. The towing head mainly comprises an armor towing cable, a shell, a lining, epoxide, an ejector rod, a tail support fixture and hydraulic work equipment. The lining is nested between a sheath and armor steel wires of the armor towing cable, the shell sleeves the armor towing cable, and spaces between the shell and the armor towing cable are filled with the epoxide. The lining is compressed in the armor steel wires under the matching effects of the hydraulic work equipment and the ejector rod, and the armor towing cable is fixed by the aid of the tail support fixture when the lining is compressed into the armor steel wires. The towing head and the method have the advantages that the towing head can be used for force bearing elements of the underwater towed systems such as sonar systems and marine acoustic measuring instruments, the maximum design breaking load of the towing head can reach at least 85% of the strength of towing cable bodies according to the method, and accordingly design requirements on the towing head can be met; repeated offshore verification and experimental verification are already carried out on the towing head, technologies are mature, and the towing head is already mounted in columns on multi-bow naval ships.
