Abstract

The node is composed of a square steel column, a crossed hinge base and replaceable lateral-resistance energy-consumption devices which are arranged on the two sides. According to the node, designing concepts of damage control, replaceable energy-consumption members, moment modification, vertical bearing, horizontal lateral-resistance separation and the like are applied, and the advantages of traditional rigid connection columns and traditional hinge columns are combined. Shape memory alloy is taken as the material of a column base supporting seat to improve the force bearing performance of the node and prolong the service life. The moment modification is achieved through reasonable designing to reduce on-column bending moment, so that the node is protected from damaging, primary lateral-resistance operation is undertaken by the replaceable lateral-resistance energy-consumption devices, and the damage on the node is avoided through a 'strong node' manner. The functions ofthe column base node can be recovered by simply replacing the lateral-resistance energy-consumption devices after the earthquake.
