Abstract

The invention discloses a method for creating a plant male sterile line. The method includes: lowering content of protein shown as a sequence 3 in a receiver plant or inhibiting activity of the protein in the receiver plant or knocking out coding gene of the protein in the receiver plant or reducing expression of the coding gene of the protein in the receiver plant to obtain the plant sterile line. Fertility of the plant sterile line obtained by the method can be restored by applying jasmonate or derivative thereof, and the method is not limited by genetic background, avoids negative effect ofsterile cytoplasm, is of important significance in expanding plant sterile line source, simplifying breeding process, accelerating plant breeding speed and lowering breeding cost and can promote quick development of different plant crossbreeding.
