Abstract

The present disclosure provides a polarizer and a display device. The polarizer comprises a surface protective layer, a stripping protective layer and an organic dye layer, wherein the organic dye layer is provided therein with an organic dye for absorbing the light having a wavelength of less than 430 nm. The display device includes a first substrate on which a first film layer is disposed, wherein an organic dye for absorbing the light having a wavelength less than 430 nm is disposed in the first film layer. In the disclosed embodiment, the organic dye such as a benzophenone derivative or amethylene bis-benzotriazolyl tetramethyl butylphenol derivative is added to the organic dye layer of the polarizer and the first film layer of the display device, and is used for absorbing the light having a wavelength less than 430nm and in a range where the wavelengths of parts of blue light is located, thereby solving the problem that a traditional liquid crystal display device leaks too much blue light in a dark state so as to result in blue color points in the dark state, enhancing the color expression performance of the display device, and reducing the damage of deep blue light to humaneyes.
