Abstract

The present invention relates to electronic equipment with an antenna module isolation structure. Electronic devices may be provided with phased antenna arrays controlled by phase and amplitude controllers within the integrated circuit. The array can be formed on the antenna layer, and the integrated circuit can be mounted on the transmission line layer of the dielectric substrate. A ground plane may separate the transmission line layer from the antenna layer. Connectors can be mounted to the surface of the transmission line layer and can be coupled to the integrated circuit using conductive traces. A passive resonator may be formed in the antenna layer and may include a conductive structure that resonates at a quarter of the effective operating wavelength of the array to form a surface for the array to generate on the ground plane The open circuit impedance of the current.
