According to the cooling device for steel pipe production and the using method thereof, due toarrangement of the cooling assembly, a circulating pump is powered on to operate, cooling liquid in a liquid collecting box is conveyed into a liquid conveying pipe through a liquid suction pipe, steel pipes passing below sprayers can be cooled through a cooling pipe and the sprayers, the spraying mode is adopted for cooling the steel pipes, the quality problem of the cooled steel pipes due to the factors like the brittleness of the steel pipes is avoided, and the cooling effect of the cooling device is improved; and due to arrangement of the smoke discharging assembly, an exhaust fan is powered on to operate, a negative pressure environment can be formed below the sprayers through a smoke suction hood, smoke produced in the cooling process is conveyed into a smoke conveying pipe througha smoke discharging pipe, the smoke is conveyed to a smoke treatment system through the smoke conveying pipe, pollution to the ambient environment by the smoke is avoided, and harm to the good healthof operators is prevented.
