Abstract

The method comprises the steps that (1)a half axle is heated to 820-855 DEG C in a quenching furnace and subjected to heat preservation for 70-90 min, wherein the half axle is made of 40MnBH or 40Cr; (2) the half axle is soaked into a 40-50 DEG C water quenching agent for quenching, wherein the water quenching agent is prepared by blending water and sodium bicarbonate according to a mass ratio of 1000:10-20; and (3) the half axle is heated to 550-570 DEG C in a tempering furnace, heat preservation is conducted for 70-120 min, the half axle is taken out to be subjected to air cooling to 300-380 DEG C, and then water cooling is conducted. The method overcomes the defect that cracks are easily generated on the surface of a workpiece after water quenching, compared with conventional oil quenching, the cost is lower, and the product quality is more stable, and the quality is equivalent to or better than that of a product obtained through conventional oil quenching.
