Abstract

The invention discloses expanded graphite and a preparation method and application thereof, wherein the preparation method comprises the following steps: S1, mixing phosphorus pentoxide, an expanding agent, graphite and sulfuric acid for reaction to prepare a mixture; and S2, mixing the mixture with an expanding aid for reaction to prepare the expanded graphite. The method provided by the invention can be used for rapidly synthesizing the chemically expanded graphite, and is controllable in acid consumption, low in energy consumption, simple and safe in implementation process and suitable for mass production. According to the method, heating energy consumption is not needed, rapid reaction can be achieved under the room temperature condition, the whole preparation time of the expanded graphite can be controlled within 10 minutes, the implementation process is simple and safe, and the method is suitable for large-scale production.
