The method comprises the following steps: acquiring a to-be-detected face image; converting the to-be-detected face image into a target color space to obtain a converted to-be-detected face image, and extracting a chrominance component and a brightness component of each pixel point in the converted to-be-detected face image; determining a skin color probability value of each pixel point according to the distribution characteristic of the chrominance component of each pixel point in the target color space; performing nonlinear transformation on the chrominance component of each pixel point according to the brightness component of each pixel point to obtain a target chrominance component of each pixel point, and determining a skin color area based on the target chrominance component of each pixel point; and according to the skin color probability value of each pixel point, the target chrominance component of each pixel point and the skin color region, identifying a skin color pixel point from each pixel point, and obtaining a face detection result based on the skin color pixel point.
