Problems solved by technology

[0012] However, dicyanofluorenone derivatives have low solubility in organic solvents and poor electron transport ability
Therefore, when these materials are used as ETM to manufacture electrophotographic photoreceptors, electrophotographic photoreceptors have disadvantages such as lowering of charge potential and rise of exposure potential after long-term repeated use
However, naphthalene tetracarboxylic acid diimide derivatives have low solubility in organic solvents and poor compatibility with polymer binder resins, so they still have poor electron transport ability
Therefore, when electrophotographic photoreceptors, especially single-layer electrophotographic photoreceptors, are produced using these materials as ETMs, the electrophotographic photoreceptors have problems such as decreased charge potential and increased exposure potential after repeated use over a long period of time.

Embodiment 1

[0132] 29.7 parts by weight of the compound (1) as ETM, 3 parts by weight of the following x-type metal-free phthalocyanine compound (4a), 14.9 parts by weight of the following enaminostilbene-based HTM compound (5a), 52.4 parts by weight of the binder resin ( O-PET, available from KANEBO) Compound (6a), 280 parts by weight of methylene chloride and 120 parts by weight of 1,1,2-trichloroethane were sand milled for 2 hours and dispersed ultrasonically. The resulting solution was coated on an anodized aluminum drum using a ring bar and dried at 110° C. for 1 hour to prepare an electrophotographic photoreceptor drum having a thickness of about 15-16 μm.

Embodiment 2

[0135] An electrophotographic photoreceptor drum was produced in the same manner as in Example 1 except that 29.7 parts by weight of compound (2) was used as ETM instead of compound (1).

Embodiment 3

[0137] An electrophotographic photoreceptor was prepared in the same manner as in Example 1, except that 29.2 parts by weight of compound (1) and 0.5 parts by weight of the following electron-accepting compound (7a) were used as ETM instead of 29.7 parts by weight of compound (1) drum.

Abstract

The present invention provides an electrophotographic photoreceptor containing a naphthalenetetracarboxylic acid diimide derivative of Formula (1), which has a branched alkyl group substituted with an aryl group at the alpha -position with regard to nitrogen atoms of imide groups: wherein R1 and R2 are independently selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a C1-C20 substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, and a C1-C20 substituted or unsubstituted alkoxy group; R3 is selected from the group consisting of a C1-C20 substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a C1-C20 substituted or unsubstituted alkoxy group, a C7-C30 substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl group, and a group having the formula -(CH2)n-Y-R4; Ar is a C6-C30 substituted or unsubstituted aryl group; Y is an oxygen or sulfur atom; R4 is a hydrogen atom or a C1-C20 substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group; and n is an integer between 1 and 12. The naphthalenetetracarboxylic acid diimide derivative has high solubility in organic solvents and compatibility with binder resins, thus providing better electron transporting ability. The invention is also directed to an electrophotographic imaging apparatus using the photoreceptor.

Description

[0001] This application claims priority under 35 U.S.C. §119 to Korean Patent Application No. 10-2004-0024503 filed with the Korean Intellectual Property Office on April 9, 2004, which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety. technical field [0002] The present invention relates to an electrophotographic photoreceptor and an electrophotographic image forming apparatus using the same. Specifically, the present invention relates to an electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising a naphthalene tetracarboxylic diimide derivative which has high solubility in an organic solvent and is adhesive to a polymer. The mixture resin has strong compatibility and thus provides strong electron transport capability. The present invention also relates to an electrophotographic image forming apparatus using the naphthalene tetracarboxylic diimide derivative.
