Abstract

The present invention provides an electro-optical device such as a liquid crystal device etc, wherein the signals in the controlling scanning direction are stably supplied to the scan line driver circuit to prevent the miss work of the scan line driver circuit. The electro-optical device is provided, on the substrate, with: a plurality of pixel portions, a plurality of scanning lines and a plurality of data lines disposed in the pixel area, for supplying the scanning signals to the scanning line drive circuit driving the plurality of scanning lines. The electro-optical device is further provided with a forward-direction control signal for controlling the scanning line drive circuit to supply the scanning signals to the plurality of scanning lines in a first order, a reverse-direction control signal for controlling the scanning line drive circuit to supply the scanning signals to the plurality of scanning lines in a second order, which is the reverse of the first order; wherein the forward-direction control signal and the reverse-direction control signal are supplied to a reverse-direction control signal generating circuit of the scanning line drive circuit.
