The switch casing has at least two sets of fastener slots disposed at two sides of the switch casing, respectively. The cover plate has a set of hooks corresponding to the fastener slots. Hermetically sealed electromechanical relay

An electromechanical relay includes an armature and an inner core at least partially surrounding at least a portion of the armature. The armature is slidably movable relative to the inner core. A coil at least partially surrounding at least a portion of the inner core. The relay also includes a stationary contact held in a ceramic header and a movable contact connected to the armature via a shaft. The movable contact is movable between an open position wherein the movable contact does not engage the stationary contact and a closed position wherein the movable contact engages the stationary contact. The relay also includes a housing having an open end and a chamber. The chamber contains the armature, the inner core, the coil, the movable contact, and at least a portion of the stationary contact. The housing forms a portion of a magnetic circuit of the relay. The ceramic header is circumferentially welded to the housing adjacent the open end such that the chamber of the housing is hermetically sealed.

Switchgear enclosure

A method and a door arrangement for a switchgear enclosure, with the enclosure having a top and bottom panel, a back panel and two opposing side panels. The enclosure includes an interior framework supporting a draw-out circuit breaker. The door arrangement comprises a front extension coupled to the enclosure. An exterior door is pivotably mounted in an offset position to the front extension and configured to move from one of a closed position and an open position on one side of the enclosure. The breaker door is pivotably mounted to the interior framework and configured to move from one of a closed position and an open position on another side of the enclosure and move clear of the offset exterior door.

Single pole relay switch

A single-pole relay switch capable of effective arc extinction irrespective of the current flowing directions in which the device is connected in a circuit. The switch has a housing and two sets of contacts located in the housing, each set being composed of a fixed contact and a movable contact. A contact carrier is provided to have first and second movable arms which extend commonly from a bridge and are provided respectively with the two movable contacts. An actuator applies a driving force to move the contact carrier between an ON-position of holding the movable contacts simultaneously in contact respectively with the fixed contacts, and an OFF-position of keeping the movable contacts at respective opening gaps from the fixed contacts. The housing includes a casing which is divided into first and second chambers respectively for receiving the contact sets, each of the first and second chambers being surrounded by a dielectric wall. Permanent magnet are disposed around the casing to stretch the individual arcs in opposing directions to each other and towards the dielectric walls of the first and second chambers, respectively. Thus, the individual arcs can be stretched individually within the separate chambers, i.e., in an isolated condition. Therefore, the individual arcs can be free from merging even when the current flows in such a direction as to drive the arcs in the approaching direction.

Hermetically sealed electromechanical relay

An electromechanical relay includes an armature and an inner core at least partially surrounding at least a portion of the armature. The armature is slidably movable relative to the inner core. A coil at least partially surrounding at least a portion of the inner core. The relay also includes a stationary contact held in a ceramic header and a movable contact connected to the armature via a shaft. The movable contact is movable between an open position wherein the movable contact does not engage the stationary contact and a closed position wherein the movable contact engages the stationary contact. The relay also includes a housing having an open end and a chamber. The chamber contains the armature, the inner core, the coil, the movable contact, and at least a portion of the stationary contact. The housing forms a portion of a magnetic circuit of the relay. The ceramic header is circumferentially welded to the housing adjacent the open end such that the chamber of the housing is hermetically sealed.

Sealed contactor

A low cost, sealed contactor comprises a hermetically sealed housing with a flat header having internal components for changing the state of said contactor. Terminals are electrically connected to the internal components for connection to internal circuitry and applying an electrical signal to control the state of the contactor. A solenoid-driven plunger with a hollow shaft is included. Power-reducing electronics located within the hermetically sealed housing are also included. Two contact springs are also included to improve electrical performance. O-rings are added to help seal the contactor and keep it hermetically sealed.

Trackball device

A trackball device of the present invention includes an operating ball, multiple rollers which rotate by contacting the ball while it is rotated, multipole permanent magnets which co-rotate with these rollers, and a reed switch disposed in a position where it turns on and off as a result of changes in magnetic flux caused by the rotation of the permanent magnets so as to provide tactile feedback when the ball is rotated. Electromagnetic switching apparatus

In an electromagnetic switching device including a cylindrical part made of a magnetic material with a closed bottom for housing a movable iron core having a movable contact and so constructed as to render the movable contact movable toward and away from a fixed contact, a joint member made of a metallic material with an insertion hole formed substantially in the center thereof for movably receiving a movable shaft fixedly attached to the movable iron core, and a metal plate made of a non-magnetic material with a hole formed substantially in the center thereof with the inner diameter substantially the same as the inner diameter of the cylindrical part, the cylindrical part and the joint member are air-tightly jointed to each other with the metal plate provided therebetween, and the movable iron core is housed in the cylindrical part with a clearance defined between the movable iron core and the joint member corresponding to a required stroke within which the movable contact contacts the fixed contact. This arrangement provides improvement in magnetic efficiency of electromagnet of the device. Accordingly, improved energy saving performance is accomplished as compared with a case of a conventional electromagnetic switching device.

Magnetic switch

A magnetically activated switch includes a flexible metallic strip on the inside of a sealed encasement, having first and second ends. The first end provides for an electrical contact and extends through the wall of the sealed encasement, with the strip being firmly secured by the wall of the encasement at the exit point, leaving the second end unsupported and having a magnetic responsive element attached. A first dipole magnet is coupled to the flexible metallic strip and located within the sealed encasement, intermediate the first and second ends. Second and third dipole magnets are diametrically opposed and separate to each other where each of the second and third dipole magnets are fixedly coupled to the inside surface of the sealed encasement. Two electrical terminals coupled respectively to the second and third dipole magnets extending through the sealed encasement. A magnetic activation device in sliding engagement with the outside surface of the sealed encasement effects the movement of the magnetic contact by sliding to first and second positions corresponding to alignment of the second and third dipole magnets creating an electrical circuit flowing from the flexible metallic strip to one of said two electrical terminals.

Circuit breaker terminal shield with position indicator

A position indicator for a circuit breaker is provided. A circuit breaker housing assembly body has an alignment surface. The position indicator includes an indicator member having an alignment surface and an elongated spacer member. The indicator member is movably coupled to the circuit breaker housing assembly adjacent a terminal screw with the spacer member generally aligned with the terminal screw. The indicator member is structured to move between a first position, wherein the alignment surface is not aligned with the housing assembly body alignment surface, and a second position, wherein the alignment surface is aligned with the housing assembly body alignment surface. The spacer member engages the terminal screw and, if the terminal screw is in a terminal screw first position, the spacer member prevents the indicator member from moving into the indicator member second position.

Switching device

It is to provide an electromagnetic relay that can perform the return operation of a movable iron piece quickly, free from a fear of welding the contact. In the electromagnetic relay, an iron core is penetrated through a through hole formed on the bottom surface of the aluminum case and coil is wound around the shaft of the protruding iron core. Through applying a voltage to the coil for magnetization and stopping the voltage for demagnetization, a contact mechanism is driven with a movable iron piece that is going and returning, attracted by and separated from a magnetic pole portion of the iron core. In particular, a slit for preventing generation of eddy current is provided on the opening end of the through hole.

Switching device

An electromagnetic relay has an iron core having a protruding shaft and a magnetic pole portion. The protruding shaft is penetrated through a through hole provided on a metal case, and coil is wound around the protruding shaft. A voltage is applied to the coil for magnetization and stopped for demagnetization, hence to drive a contact mechanism with a movable iron piece that is attracted by and separated from the magnetic pole portion, thereby causing a reciprocating motion of the movable iron piece. The relay can prevent generation of eddy current.
