A cooling unit to cool the display apparatus including a heat generating unit to generate heat and a casing to accommodate the heat generating unit, the cooling unit includes a cooling fan to generate air flow; a duct which is coupled with the casing and forms a cooling path to connect the cooling fan and the heat generating unit; an inlet portion which is provided to one side of the casing to communicate with the duct; an inlet grill which is provided in the inlet portion to guide air to be inhaled in a direction inclined to a rear surface of the casing; an outlet portion which is provided to an other side of the casing to communicate with the duct, being spaced from the inlet portion; and an outlet grill which is provided in the outlet portion to guide air to be exhaled in a direction inclined to a rear surface of the casing, wherein the exhaled direction provided by the outlet grill is different from the air-inhaling direction provided by the inlet grill. With this configuration, the cooling path is effectively provided to enhance cooling efficiency and thermal reliability.

A cooling system for an electronic display may include a heat collector plate with internal gas and liquid phase lines. The cooling plate may be thermally isolated together with electronic components of the display within an enclosure of the display, while external lines carry liquid and gas phase refrigerant outside the enclosure to and from the heat collector plate. The external lines may be similar in size to each other and may be connected to the heat collector outside the heat collector plate by a manifold. The heat collector plate contacts a base plate of the electronic display in a thermally conductive relation to transfer heat from electronic components within the display to the gas phase refrigerant. Fans may be included for additional convective heat transfer. A single compressor may be fluidly connected to multiple heat collector plates in respective electronic displays.

A liquid crystal display apparatus includes a light source, a light source drive circuit for switching the light source on and off, a heat release member for releasing heat generated by at least one of the light source drive circuit and the light source, and a heat transport member for transporting the heat to the heat release member. The light source drive circuit is connected to the heat release member through the heat transport member. The heat transport member has high heat conductivity so that a large part of the heat can be transferred to the heat release member through the heat transport member for a short time.
