Abstract

The invention provides a battery box with easy battery module assembly and disassembly and good maintainability in the environment of the cooling air containing the dusts and a rail vehicle with the battery case. A battery box 1 comprises a plate-like first member 20 disposed on one side of a storage chamber 2 and a plate-like second member 30 disposed on the other side of the storage chamber 2 for supporting a plurality of battery modules 10 between the first member 20, wherein the first member 20 has feed ports 21 in airtight communication with inlets 11 opening at one end of battery modules 10 for introducing air therein, the second member 30 has discharge ports 31 for discharging the air introduced through the feed ports 21 into the interior of the battery modules 10 to the exterior, and at least one of the first member 20 or the second member 30 is attached in a detachable manner to one side or the other side of the storage chamber 2.
