Embodiment Construction
[0046] like figure 1 The illustrated extractor dryer 1 comprises a drum 2 rotatable about a horizontal axis as a drying chamber, inside which drum an agitator 21 is fastened for moving the laundry during the rotation of the drum. The stirrer 21 is molded, in particular injection molded, of a thermoplastic polymer including titanium dioxide in anatase form as a filler (for photocatalysts and polymers, see image 3 Reference numerals 43 and 44 in). Titanium dioxide is produced in powder form and adhered to a polymer. The titanium dioxide can be doped with carbon so that it can be activated by visible light as a photocatalyst. It should be noted that the use of titanium dioxide as a filler is quite common, but said fillers are sometimes chemically inactivated, preventing a photocatalytic effect, which is quite undesirable in applications otherwise. In the case of the present invention, care must therefore be taken not to use the latter type of non-activatable titanium dioxide....
