Abstract

The invention relates to steel and a production method of the steel. The steel has erosion and wear resisting performances and is used for a delivery pipe line of slurry such as coal slurry and ore pulp. The steel comprises the following chemical compositions in percentage by weight: 0.04-0.16% of C, 0.15-0.25% of Si, 0.08-1.60% of Mn, 0.020-0.065% of Nb, 0.010-0.025% of Ti, 0.05-0.25% of Cu, 0.10-0.30% of Cr, not more than 0.022% of P, not more than 0.004% of S, not more than 0.43 of CEIIW, and not more than 0.21 of CEPcm. The production method comprises the following steps of: pretreatment of molten iron; external refining and denaturation of inclusions as well as continuous casting to form a blank; and rolling and cooling controlling. The steel in the invention has 450MPa grade of yield strength, and is more than 10% higher than API5LX65 (L450) steel in erosion and wear resisting performances and toughness, so that the service life of the pipeline can be prolonged by more than 10%. Furthermore, the steel has good welding and molding performances and good structural homogeneity, is low in deformation resistance during rolling and causes low loss to a rolling mill.
