The invention discloses a method for timing and synchronizing a signal of a CMMB (China Mobile Multimedia Broadcasting) system, which comprises the following steps of: step 1, after a CMMB receiver is power on, firstly carrying out coarse timing synchronization so as to carry out signal acquisition, and obtaining an initial position of a current bursty data segment; step 2, before each bursty data segment after coarse timing synchronization, carrying out fine timing synchronization estimation under the control of an enable signal, and calculating a timing synchronization error of the current bursty data segment; and step 3, adding a fine timing synchronization estimation result obtained by each bursty data segment and cumulative results of the timing synchronization errors together, and obtaining an absolute timing position of the bursty data segment.
