Abstract

An identification system based on combination of a dorsal hand vein and a hand shape and a method thereof are disclosed. According to a vein imaging characteristic, acquisition modes of two modes: far-infrared thermal imaging and near-infrared imaging are designed. According to an infrared thermal imaging theory, an infrared thermal imager is used to realize far-infrared dorsal hand vein imaging. According to a near infrared imaging theory, a LED array with an 850nm peak wavelength is used to emit infrared light to irradiate back of the hand. A near infrared CCD is used to collect dorsal hand vein images so as to realize the near infrared dorsal hand vein imaging. By using the identification method of the combination of the dorsal hand vein and the hand shape, the acquired image is processed so as to extract a characteristic vector of the dorsal hand vein and the hand shape. The characteristic vector is matched with the stored characteristic vector so as to obtain an identification result. According to the invention, two kinds of biological information on the hand are used and collected once. Through carrying out extraction of two kinds of the biological information and identification on the acquired image, a collected information amount can be increased and an identification rate can be increased too. Compared to single biology identification, the method of the invention is accurate and secure, and has anti-falsification and applicability.
