The invention discloses an automatic data center configuration method and a data center configuration device. The automatic data center configuration method and the data center configuration device are applied in a two-layer internet of a data center, wherein an address issuing device and an address parsing device are arranged; each core network device is equipped with a VPN (virtual private network) which supports the two layer transferring; a virtual two-layer connection is established between the core network devices; the method comprises the steps that the address issuing device receives a registration message transmitted by a data center edge device after accomplishing the IP (internet protocol) address configuration of the device, wherein the registration message carries over the MAC (media access control) address and the IP address of the data center edge device; and the address issuing device caches the address information of the data center edge device carried in the registration message, and issues the MAC address of the edge device in a manner of address cluster in VPN-MAC route through the virtual two-layer connection between the core network devices. With the adoption of the automatic data center configuration method and the data center configuration device, the data center configuration in a dynamic self-adaptive manner is realized without manual intervention when the IP address of the edge device of the data center is changed because of the displacement of the data center, or the change of an accessed service provider and the like.
