Abstract

The invention discloses a method for improving casting surface quality. A double-layer coating is adopted and the method comprises: coating a layer of sinter layer coating on the sand mold surface of the core cavity part of a casting, and then coating a layer of fire-resistant coating on a second coating. The fire-resistant coating comprises the following components, by weight percentage, 60-70 parts of graphite, 30-40 parts of flaky graphite, 3-4 parts of activated bentonite and 0.5-1 part of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, wherein the granularity of the graphite and the flaky graphite both are 200 meshes and the sinter layer coating adopts zircon power. The bottom layer adopts sinter layer coating which sinterings into thin casing in the function of high temperature after contacting with molten iron, while the surface fire-resistant coating enables the thin casing to be separated with molten iron completely without wetting phenonmenon. After unpacking the casting, the thin casing automatically breaks away from the casting and the casting of smooth surface is formed without cleaning. The manufacturing technique is simple, the labor force is saved and the manufacturing cost is low.
