The water wall coal-water slurry gasifier comprises: a furnace body; a vaporizer arranged inside the furnace body, wherein the inner wall of the vaporizer is a water wall; installing ports for nozzles of coal water slurry and gasifying agent, a crude gas outlet and a slag removal opening which are arranged on the furnace body; the ignition furnace head arranged on the top side of the furnace body, wherein the inner chamber of the furnace body is communicated with the vaporizer, nozzle installing ports for a feed nozzle and an ignition nozzle are arranged on the ignition furnace head, and the inner chamber is made of firebricks. The invention also discloses gasification technologies of the water wall coal water slurry gasifier provided with ignition furnace head. According to the gasification technologies, the coal water slurry and gasifying agent are ignited in the ignition furnace head and then injected into the vaporizer for ignition of the coal water slurry and gasifying agent which are injected via the nozzles of coal water slurry and gasifying agent, so that gasification reaction is carried out.
