The intelligent control device is designed for intelligent control of a screw pump and improvement of production efficiency. A pressure transducer, a protector and a down-hole direct-driven motor are arranged below and connected with a pump suction inlet of the device, wherein the motor is connected with a ground intelligent control unit through a signal cable. The intelligent control device can be manually operated, started and stopped and is capable of realizing adjustment of a rotating speed and displacement; in automatic operation, basic production parameters of the screw pump should be input in advance, and then a minimum submergence pressure value and a restart pressure value are set according to a differential pressure range in production of an oil well; and in production, the depth of a working fluid level, submergence and total fluid volume of an oil reservoir can be obtained through acquisition of the basic parameters of the oil well in real time, and then the rotating speed of the motor and the displacement of the pump are adjusted. With the intelligent control device and the operation method thereof in the invention, the screw pump and the direct-driven motor are protected from damage; the frequency of workover treatment is reduced; production efficiency is improved; energy is saved; consumption and operation cost are reduced; and intelligent oil extraction is realized.
