Abstract

The invention discloses a method for planting ramie on rice field ridges to increase natural enemies of insect pests in a rice field. Ramie is planted on the ridges around the rice field, varieties of the ramie are Xiangzhu 3# and Zhongzhu 1#, ramie stocks of ramie of second instar and older are planted at plant intervals of 35 to 50cm, the ramie is planted within 10 to 30 days after the transplantation of rice, and the rice field is managed according to the normal level. Two-year field tests show that by the ramie ridges, the species and the individual number of arthropods are increased by 20 percent and 17 percent respectively, the individual number of the natural enemies of the insect pests, such as spiders and parasitic wasps, are increased by 14 percent and 31 percent respectively, and great effects on the storage and the development of the species of the natural enemies of the insect pests in the rice field are achieved.
