The invention provides a method for improving soil by using a biological base material and relates to the technical field of soil improvement. The method comprises the following steps: embedding two layers of pored plastic concealed pipes in the soil, conducting vertical drainage and salt-leaching, and carrying out drip irrigation and infiltrating irrigation on the soil; conducting deep tillage ofsoil for 300-500 mm with a deep tillage machine; laying a soil improvement agent on the soil, and conducting rotary tillage on the soil after laying so as to realize full mixing of the soil and the soil improvement agent, wherein the soil improvement agent comprises the following raw materials in parts by weight: 50-60 parts of limestone, 20-35 parts of humic acid, 8-15 parts of diatomite, 8-10 parts of peat soil, 2-6 parts of a clay adsorbent, 5-8 parts of montmorillonite, 3-6 parts of aluminum sulfate, 4-9 parts of ammonium ferrous sulfate, 2-5 parts of magnesium sulfate, 1-4 parts of cluster mallow fruits, 2-6 parts of caulis akebiae, 2-6 parts of semen plantaginis and 1-4 parts of herba lycopi; and applying the biological base material in the treated soil. The method for improving thesoil can prevent a salinization phenomenon of the soil, improve permeability of the soil, increase nutrients of the soil and enhance activity of the soil.
