According to the variable frequency air conditioner compressor counter electromotive force protection circuit, an IPM module is connected in parallel with a protection circuit; when a compressor stops or is powered off instantly, the real-time power supply voltage of the IPM module is the sum of power supply voltage in a normal state and a counter electromotive force; when the real-time power supply voltage is larger than the value of voltage at two ends of an electrolytic capacitor, a diode on the protection circuit is turned on, so that the electrolytic capacitor is charged; and when the real-time power supply voltage is smaller than the value of the voltage at the two ends of the electrolytic capacitor, the diode on the protection circuit is not turned on, and the electrolytic capacitor performs discharging on a power consumption element on the protection circuit.
