Abstract

The present invention relates to a short-circuit protection device for limiting current IE output by a battery pack branch comprising at least one battery cell. The output current IA is guided by two network terminals to pass through a consumer network. A switching element is arranged in a first current circulation circuit passing through the battery pack branch, a power grid terminal, and the consumer network, and can interrupt the current IE. The short-circuit protection (1) is further provided with a comparison arrangement (19) used for comparing the output current IA with a predefined rated value IS. The short-circuit protection also includes an inductor and an inductor current regulation arrangement which can adjust the output current IA passing through the inductor. The short-circuit protection device also includes a bridging device which is configured to bridge the battery pack branch comprising at least one battery cell, and moreover, the rated value IS can be limited to a predefined maximum value of a short-circuit current.
