Abstract

The invention discloses a leakage-proof ring and method of XLPE cable polarization current measurement. Metal shielding and outer semiconductor layers at the two ends of a measured XLPE cable are peeled and serve as reserved edge surfaces, a copper strip of the width of 15mm and thickness of 2mm is selected, and the length of the copper strip is selected according to the diameter of a cable core and the thickness of an insulating layer. The length of the copper strip equals [pi*(D+d*2)+30]mm, D represents the diameter of the cable core, d represents the thickness of the insulating layer, and the margin of 30mm is considered. Holes of the diameters of 5mm are drilled at positions 5mm to the edges at the two ends of the copper strip respectively, the copper strip is bent till the holes at the two ends are leveled, and a copper ring, namely, the leakage-proof ring, is formed. The leakage-proof rings at the two ends are connected so that leakage current of the edge surfaces does not directly flow back to a power side via a current measurement module, influence of edge-surface leakage current on measurement of the polarization current is influenced, and the polarization current measured by the current measurement module does not include the edge-surface leakage current.
