[0020] The carrier signal 2 provided by the base station is incident on the tunable metasurface 1 after being radiated by the antenna 5, and the modulation signal 3 applied to the varactor on the tunable metasurface will make the tunable metasurface 1 perform amplitude modulation on the incident electromagnetic wave 2, after The modulated reflected electromagnetic wave 4 is received by the antenna 5 at the information receiving end, and the modulated signal 3 can be recovered after detection. The adjustable metasurface 1 is composed of periodically arranged units. The number of units can be selected according to specific application scenarios. The back of the metasurface 1 is coated with a layer of copper film. The dielectric plate 6 is made of F4B...

Abstract

The invention discloses a method of modulating the amplitude of electromagnetic wave in a free space by use of an adjustable artificial electromagnetic super surface. According to the invention, the amplitude of incident electromagnetic wave is modulated by use of an adjustable artificial electromagnetic super surface to make the amplitude of reflected electromagnetic wave change with a modulation signal applied to the adjustable super surface so as to realize information back-transmission, and the modulation depth can be controlled flexibly. The method can be used in one-way information collection. Information sending equipment adopted is simple, and there is no need for a carrier generation device. The super surface is composed of super material unit structures arranged periodically. The front of the unit structures contains two isosceles trapezoid copper pieces which are symmetrically arranged up and down, and a varactor is welded between the trapezoids. Both ends of the varactor are connected with a modulation signal. The method has the following advantages: carrier signals within a certain frequency scope of an X band can be modulated; the modulation depth is controllable; and an information sender passively receives carrier signals emitted by a base station, no carrier generation device is needed, so that the equipment is simple, and the mobility and distributivity are improved.

Description

[0001] Technical field: [0002] The invention relates to a method for amplitude modulation of free-space electromagnetic waves by using an adjustable artificial electromagnetic metasurface, which belongs to the field of wireless information transmission. The magnitude of the reflection coefficient of the incident electromagnetic wave, so that the information to be transmitted is loaded on the reflected electromagnetic wave in the form of a bias voltage and transmitted back to the base station that transmits the carrier. The information sending end does not need a carrier generating device, which is conducive to portable distributed information collection. [0003] Background technique: [0004] Artificial electromagnetic metasurface is an artificially designed two-dimensional periodic structure, which has designable electromagnetic wave reflection and transmission characteristics, and has important application value in regulating the propagation of electromagnetic waves.
