Abstract

The invention discloses a simple system for measuring orchard surface runoff and a method thereof. A simple device comprises a flow collection enclosure area, a skip bucket type water gauge and a drainage ditch, wherein a flow guide hole is formed in the periphery of the flow collection enclosure area; a flow guide pipe is arranged on the flow guide hole; a water inlet end of the skip bucket type water gauge is connected below the other end of the flow guide pipe; and a drainage end of the skip bucket type water gauge is connected with the drainage ditch. The simple method comprises the following steps: (1) collecting the surface runoff; (2) measuring the surface runoff; and (3) calculating the surface runoff. The system and method disclosed by the invention can continuously and automatically record the surface runoff generated in the flow collection enclosure area, are easy in operation, avoid the labor burden of a runoff tank collection method caused by completely emptying a runoff collection tank and measuring the surface runoff after each rainfall, and have the advantages of low construction cost, simplicity in operation and accurate measurement.
